Marjorie Liu is a New York Times best-selling author and comic book writer, known for her the paranormal romance novel Tiger Eye as well as X-23, Black Widow and Astonishing X-Men. Marjorie tells the story of how she made the transition from studying law to a published author and soon grabbing the attention of Marvel Comics. Ready for the next step in her career, she is set to release her original title Monstress through Image Comics.
Marjorie Liu also explains the challenges of writing for a major company versus creator-owned comics, finding your voice creatively and even discusses the praise (as well as death threats) received for writing the now-iconic issue of Astonishing X-Men.
