This week's episode was recorded on location at East Side Mags in Montclair, NJ. Today's guest is Joe Caramagna, an Eisener and Harvey award nominated letterer who's worked on Marvel titles such as Daredevil, Captain America and New Avengers as well as serving as the writer of two creator-owned titles: The Further Travels of Wyatt Earp and Model Operandi. Fellow Jersey-based writer/artist Stephen Coughlin also steps in for a few quick comments in between drawing sketches for kids. Stephen is the creator of the title Sanctuary for Slave Labor Graphics.
My conversation with Joe is as random as it is hilarious. We talk about his background in comics as a graduate of the Kubert School and starting out as an intern with Marvel Comics. This is Adrian Has Issues, so you know I gotta get some hockey-related banter in and we riff on the Minnesota Wild logo, defunct teams and how Joe's comic book career mirrors that of legendary goalie Martin Brodeur.
