I’ve been listening to some fantastic music in the past few weeks, but I think I was silently waiting for a song to really shake me up and get me going. Suffice to say, Vancouver’s Japandroids have delivered that song.
“The House That Heaven Built” is the first taste of new music we’ve been given off the band’s upcoming album “Celebration Rock” due June 5, 2012, and all I have to say is—wow. This is classic Japandroids throughout and the shout-along backing vocals just make it even more dynamic. I may have just found my new Spring/Summer anthem! Do yourself a big favor: hit “play” and crank this one way up.
“The House That Heaven Built” will be available in a 7″ single due out May 15. You can pre-order both the 7″ single and the full album here.

Oh! Before I go I just wanted to mention that coming in June the band will be playing some US dates in support of the new album, which can be found on their Facebook page. Hopefully I’ll be able to snag some tix for the Bowery Ballroom show. Maybe I’ll see some of you there!
