New Jersey’s Gatherer made quite the first impression on me during last week’s show at Maxwell’s. The band recently released “And Now Everyone Sings The Blues,” the first track off their upcoming full-length. The song continues their streak of stark, emotional lyrics which are accompanied by intricate melodies and intense rhythms. Vocalist Christian Berrigan has already proven he can scream with the best of them, but it was surprising to hear he’s expanded his range with some clean vocals as well.
Caught Between A Rock And A Sad Place will be released independently on June 18th. Gatherer is currently on tour so be sure to check the tour dates below. Additionally there’s also set up an Indiegogo site for pre-orders for the CD along with limited edition 12″ LPs.
