When does Lemuria find the time to sleep?
Since their formation in 2004, the Buffalo, NY trio has only released two full-length albums, “Get Better” (2008) and “Pebble” (2011). Releasing two albums is nothing to sneeze at, but one also has to take into account the number of compilations, demos, 7″ Split EP’s, and singles they’ve released. It’s enough to make your head spin.
In addition to playing in Lemuria, Drummer/Vocalist Alex Kerns also runs his own “D.I.Y.” (Do It Yourself) indie label Art of the Underground and is also the co-owner of the screen printing company Argybargy Printing, which specializes in apparel, stickers, posters, etc.
On Thursday, April 12 Lemuria posted a brand-new track “Varoom Allure” on their Facebook page, but you can stream the track below. It will appear on their upcoming Varoom Allure 7″, which will be released exclusively in indie shops on 4/21 in honor of “Record Store Day.”

One thing I love about this song and many of Lemuria’s other work is the sort of “conversational” nature of the dual vocals between Drummer/Vocalist Alex Kerns and Guitarist/Vocalist Sheena Ozzella. It’s a great dynamic and it makes the music feel much more intimate as opposed to simply writing disposable lyrics.
You now know how I feel about it, but as always I’m more interested in what you think. To the polls we go!
