In the age where a label as prestigious as Roadrunner Records is finding itself shuttering many of its doors one would assume that the hard rock/metal scene is dead. That’s hardly the case. If anything, it’s merely calling out for something new; something different.
In the case of Newark/Hillside, NJ metal act Killed The Fixtion, the band has reminded us that metal doesn’t always have to be a bludgeoning force of “chugga-chugga” riffing and tough guy posturing. I was a bit puzzled at first, wondering if I were listening to the same track. It’s almost as if Pantera found themselves jamming with blues legend B.B. King. Once it gets going I found it to be my favorite part of the song. Guitarist Kevin Izquierdo absolutely kills on the solo.
