One of the most remarkable aspects of the indie rock supergroup The New Pornographers is that while they make beautiful music together their solo endeavors are equally as stellar. Frontman Allan Carl Newman, who performs under the simplified moniker A.C. Newman, has taken the off-time from the band to release his third solo LP and the follow-up to 2009’s Get Guilty. On “I’m Not Talking,” the first single off the upcoming album “Shut Down The Streets,” Newman dabbles with synthesizers in the intro, but takes on something more of a 1970’s Singer-Songwriter style akin to veteran acts like Jim Croce and John Denver. New Pornographers bandmate Neko Case sweetens the deal by providing the backing vocals and harmonies.
